A 5 star hotel in Tampa, in the way most travelers use that search, is a full service room with a real downtown or waterfront address. This page does not assign star ratings. Luxury hotel rooms in Tampa in 2026 start on Water Street, on Harbour Island, in Hyde Park, in Ybor City, on Florida Avenue, and at Rocky Point. Open The Tampa EDITION at 500 Channelside Drive or JW Marriott Tampa Water Street at 510 Water Street when the Riverwalk is the night. Open The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside at 725 South Harbour Island Boulevard when you want a waterfront room, a pool, and the convention center nearby. Open Epicurean Hotel at 1207 South Howard Avenue, or Palihouse Hyde Park Village at 1509 West Swann Avenue. Open Hotel Haya at 1412 East 7th Avenue for Ybor. Open Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse, at 601 North Florida Avenue, or Hotel Flor Tampa at 905 North Florida Avenue. Open The CURRENT Hotel at 2545 North Rocky Point Drive when the bay is the point. Choose the neighborhood first. Then open the official hotel site. The short map is the Tampa destination hub.

Best luxury neighborhoods for a splurge
Water Street and Channelside
Water Street Tampa is the new waterfront district beside the Riverwalk, Sparkman Wharf, the Florida Aquarium, and the arena. It is the right luxury core when you want to walk to dinner and you accept that a Lightning night, a cruise morning, and a Riverwalk festival are the soundtrack. It is a weak place to assume Hyde Park hush, and it is a weak place to assume the beach is downstairs. Visit Tampa Bay is the wide visitor map. The hotel pages below are the sleep decision.
The Tampa EDITION, at 500 Channelside Drive, is the design hotel in this set. The hotel's own site says it sits in the 56 acre Water Street neighborhood and has 172 guest rooms and 30 suites, including a penthouse of 2,059 square feet. It names Morris Adjmi with Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe and Associates for the architecture, Roman and Williams for the interiors, and Ian Schrager for the creative lead. The Marriott overview is the same hotel, and it is where the fees are printed. Check in is 4:00 p.m. Check out is 11:00 a.m. The minimum age is 18. The hotel is cashless. Housekeeping is listed as twice daily. There is no airport shuttle. Tampa International Airport is listed at 8.0 miles. St. Pete Clearwater International is listed at 17.0 miles. Orlando International is listed at 85.0 miles. Those are the page's figures, not a drive we timed.
EDITION parking is specific, and the two official pages agree on the dollars while they emphasize different lines. The overview lists valet at $58 a day and then says the daily fee excludes tax, with overnight at $58, daytime at $40, and event parking at $60. The getting here page prints the same three numbers plus tax, and adds that guests who spend $60 or more in the food and beverage venues get a 50 percent validation, not on event nights. Read the rate you are about to pay before you assume the validation applies to a concert night. Pets are welcome under a tight rule: one pet, up to 25 pounds, nonrefundable fee of $250 per stay. The same policy says the hotel accepts service animals with certification. That certification line is the hotel's wording. We are not giving a legal opinion on it. Wi Fi is described as complimentary for Marriott Bonvoy members who book direct.
The dining list is long enough to plan a weekend without leaving the block, and it is also a noise map. The overview and the restaurants page name Lilac, Market at EDITION, a coffee bar with La Colombe, the Lobby Bar, Punch Room, Arts Club, Azure on the roof, and a Pool Bar. The overview says Lilac has been a three year recipient of a Michelin star, that Conde Nast Traveler names the property the number 4 best hotel in Florida, and it prints a Forbes four star line. Those are the hotel page's claims. We do not audit awards, and we do not copy a star onto the card below. Azure and the Pool Bar are the roof. A room under that roof is a different booking from a room that only visits it. The overview also says the hotel has a spa and a fitness center. We do not publish a spa price, because the pages we read did not print one.
JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, at 510 Water Street, is the full service neighbor, not a second name for the EDITION. Check in is 4:00 p.m. Check out is 11:00 a.m. The minimum age is 18, which is younger than the 21 year rule at Le Méridien, Epicurean, Hotel Haya, and The CURRENT. Pets are not allowed. There is no airport shuttle. The overview lists Tampa International at 7.0 miles and St. Pete Clearwater at 17.5 miles. EDITION, a few blocks away, lists 8.0 and 17.0. Use both as the hotels' notes. They do not match. Valet is $55 a day. Short term daytime valet is $35. The page also names the Pam Iorio Garage at 0.5 miles for off site parking and says to contact the hotel for self parking options. Electric vehicle charging is listed. Wi Fi is complimentary for Bonvoy members who book direct.
The JW's sixth floor is the amenity floor the overview wants you to picture: two pools, cabanas, Spa by JW with 10 treatment suites, and SiX for dining over the pool. Beacon is the 27th floor lounge, which the page calls downtown's highest public rooftop cocktail bar, and it is cashless. Driftlight Steakhouse and Driftlight Lounge are cashless. Turntable is the grab and go window, with hours that vary with nearby events. JW Market is the cafe. The amenities list prints a club lounge figure of 80.00 and says access is complimentary for Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite members, plus one guest. We are not turning 80.00 into a slogan. Ask whether your rate includes the lounge or adds that line. The overview also says guests can use additional dining at the adjacent Tampa Marriott Water Street, and it counts those outlets toward a list of 10. That Marriott is a different hotel. If the spa, the sixth floor pools, and Beacon are the reason you are here, book the JW page and read the address 510 Water Street before you pay. The page says the hotel is beside the Tampa Riverwalk and Benchmark International Arena. A game night is the reason many people choose this door, and it is the reason to ask for a higher floor if sleep matters as much as the walk to the arena.
Hyde Park, SoHo, and Bayshore
South Tampa luxury is three maps that visitors collapse into one word. SoHo is South Howard Avenue, the restaurant street. Hyde Park Village is the shopping enclave around Swann Avenue. Bayshore Boulevard is the waterfront sidewalk that hosts the Gasparilla parade. A hotel on Howard is a dining base. A hotel on Swann is a village base. Neither is a Bayshore balcony. The parade still reaches this side of town because the street closures sit on the boulevard, not because your lobby is the reviewing stand. Epicurean Hotel, at 1207 South Howard Avenue, is the culinary house. The homepage says it has 188 guest rooms and suites and calls itself an AAA Four Diamond hotel. That diamond line is the hotel's claim. We do not audit it, and we do not put it on the card. The hotel is an Autograph Collection property operated with Mainsail. The July 2026 fact sheet on the hotel's own site says a $21 million expansion across Howard added 51 rooms and brought the total to 188, with a private lobby, meeting space, a rooftop terrace, and 91 parking spaces in that addition. It also describes eight historic suites across the avenue, each a one bedroom with a kitchenette and a balcony. The fact sheet says the hotel was the first newly built Autograph Collection property in the United States. That is the sheet's history line.
Epicurean's clock and the car are on the hours and information page, and they do not match the fact sheet's airport sentence. Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is noon. You must be 21. Pets are not allowed. Service animals are the exception the page names. Overnight valet for hotel guests is $25 a night. Daily valet is $10. Valet for patrons of the hotel outlets is complimentary before 7 p.m. and $10 after. Tesla charging is complimentary, and the page says prevailing parking rates still apply. The same FAQ lists bicycle rental at $20. The fact sheet tells you to ask an Epicurean host for a cruiser bike to ride Bayshore, and it calls that sidewalk about four and a half miles. We are not merging $20 and a complimentary sounding host note into one promise. Ask which bicycle you are reserving. The hours page lists Tampa International at 7.4 miles. The fact sheet says the hotel is about 15 minutes from that airport and about 30 minutes from St. Pete Clearwater. A mile marker and a minute estimate are different kinds of claims. We do not publish a live drive time.
The kitchen is the reason to stay here, and the hours page is the reason not to assume every room is open on a Monday. Elevage SoHo Kitchen and Bar serves brunch, a lite bite window, and dinner. On Monday through Friday the page lists brunch 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., lite bites until 5 p.m., and dinner 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Weekend brunch runs until 3 p.m. EDGE, the rooftop cocktail lounge, is open Tuesday through Thursday 5 p.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. It is closed Sunday and Monday. The same page lists Tuesday 10 November as closed and does not print a year, so confirm that date before you promise someone the roof. Spa Evangeline is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fact sheet names executive chef Jon Atanacio at Elevage, a lobby bar, Chill Bros. as the scoop shop, Bern's Fine Wines and Spirits in the lobby, and the Epicurean Theatre with seating for up to 40. It also places Bern's Steak House at 1208 South Howard Avenue, across the street, closed Monday, open Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The homepage sells a Bern's steak package. The fact sheet goes on to list awards for the restaurant. Those are the sheet's claims about a neighbor. We do not audit them. The fact sheet also names a Victorian Christmas Stroll in December and Gasparilla in January among area events, without a 2026 or 2027 calendar. Use it as a hint that this street has a December stroll and a January parade, then confirm the date with the organizer.
Palihouse Hyde Park Village, at 1509 West Swann Avenue, is the small house in this set. The Palisociety page says it has 36 oversized guest rooms inside the six blocks of Hyde Park Village, with kitchenettes, and a lobby bar meant for hotel guests and locals. Phone 813 820 1685. Thirty six rooms is a different inventory problem from Epicurean's 188 or a Water Street tower. A Gasparilla weekend or a small wedding can take the useful suite while Howard Avenue still shows space. The page we read on 16 October 2026 did not print a valet rate, a destination fee, a pet fee, a check in time, or a cancellation window. We do not invent them. Read the total on palisociety.com, or call the hotel, before you compare Palihouse with Epicurean's $25 overnight valet. Swann is a walk to shops and restaurants in the village. It is not the South Howard door, and it is not Bayshore. If the lobby bar is the outing, ask which rooms sit over it.
Ybor City
Ybor is the historic district east of downtown, built around cigar factories and 7th Avenue. It is the right luxury core when you want brick streets, a courtyard, and one planned late night. It is a weak place to assume a Water Street spa is in the lobby, and it is a weak place to assume Bayshore quiet. The streetcar is the link west, not a promise that the avenue itself is hushed. Hotel Haya, at 1412 East 7th Avenue, is the pick. The homepage describes a hotel in the old city, and the contact line includes florfina@hotelhaya.com, which matches the restaurant. The rooms page names Flor Fina, a poolside bar, and Cafe Quiquiriqui. The FAQ prints Flor Fina brunch Tuesday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., a dining room Tuesday through Saturday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and a bar grid that runs later, including Friday and Saturday until midnight with the kitchen until 11 p.m. The cafe answer says breakfast and lunch 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with coffee until 4 p.m., and it does not repeat the cafe's name. The pool is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. We did not find a room count on the pages we read, so we do not publish one. A smaller historic hotel can still sell the courtyard room you wanted on a Saturday.
Hotel Haya's fees are specific, and two of them disagree across pages, which is the reason to read both before you pay. The FAQ says a destination amenity fee of $25 plus tax per room per night covers a morning coffee station, a one time $20 food and beverage credit, high speed Wi Fi, the 24 hour fitness center, pool and courtyard access, priority restaurant reservations, two waters, lifestyle events, local calls, and poolside accessories. The word one time, inside a per night fee, is the hotel's wording. Ask whether the credit is once per stay. Overnight valet is $39 a night with unlimited in and out, at the main entrance on 14th Street, which the FAQ also calls North Avenida Republica de Cuba. The Park and Stay offer describes included valet as a $35 a night value. We are not choosing $39 over $35. The FAQ pet answer says two pets per room at $100 per pet, and it does not print a weight limit. The Park and Stay page says a $75 nonrefundable pet fee, no more than two pets, maximum 30 pounds. Read the rate you are buying. Check in is 4:00 p.m. Check out is noon. The primary guest must be 21, with a photo ID and a card. The FAQ says the hotel will hold an extra $100 a day for incidentals. Flexible reservations can be cancelled without penalty more than 48 hours before the 4:00 p.m. arrival. Inside 48 hours, the penalty is one night of room and tax. Advance purchase rates are excluded. Reservations are held until 2:00 a.m. the next day, and a no show is one night of room and tax. There is no airport shuttle. The FAQ also says a credit card recovery fee of 2.69 percent is charged on each card transaction. That line can change the total more than a small valet gap. Smoking is limited to designated outdoor areas on 7th Avenue and the courtyard. Rooms, the pool deck, and private balconies are non smoking, and the FAQ says there is a smoking penalty without printing the amount.
The same FAQ says the hotel is 1.6 miles from downtown and that the TECO streetcar is complimentary, with stops at the Florida Aquarium, Sparkman Wharf, Amalie Arena, the convention center, and the financial district. HART's current streetcar page also says the line is free. The JW and EDITION pages call the arena Benchmark. Haya's FAQ still says Amalie. Ask which name is current if you are telling a driver where to go. The streetcar is the right tool between Ybor and Water Street. It is not a ride to Epicurean or to Rocky Point. Earplugs are on the in room amenity list, which is a useful hint. A balcony over 7th Avenue is the postcard and the noise. A courtyard room is the other request.
Downtown and the courthouse
Downtown Tampa, along Florida Avenue, is the grid between the Riverwalk and the taller historic blocks. It is the right sleep when you want to walk to the museum, the Straz Center side of town, and a planned Water Street evening without living on Channelside. It is the wrong sleep if you wanted a Hyde Park porch or a Rocky Point sunrise as the view from the bed. Two official hotels on this avenue are easy to confuse because both are historic and both use Florida Avenue. They are not the same building.
Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse, at 601 North Florida Avenue, is the 1905 federal building. The overview says the building began as a post office and customs house, tied to the cigar trade, and later served as a courthouse. It describes 130 guest rooms and suites, marble, original oak doors, a gold elevator, and courtrooms reused as event rooms, with 4,800 square feet of meeting space. Sal Rosa is the restaurant. The page says the witness stand became the hostess stand and the juror's bench became seating. There is an outdoor pool on the old wagon court, a 24 hour fitness center, and a sundries shop. Unlock Art, the brand's museum program, partners here with the Tampa Museum of Art. The page says guests get in free with the pass in the room. Check in is 4:00 p.m. Check out is 11:00 a.m. You must be 21. There is no airport shuttle. Tampa International is listed at 7.0 miles. Affari Transportation is listed on request at $25 one way and $40 round trip. Overnight valet is $52. Daytime valet is $20. Dinner parking is $5. Dogs are welcome, up to two per room, up to 40 pounds, at $50 per pet per night. Wi Fi is complimentary for Bonvoy members who book direct. The hotel says it sits adjacent to Sacred Heart Church. A wedding weekend at the church can fill a 130 room house even when a Water Street tower still has space. We do not publish a cancellation window, because the overview we read did not print one.
Hotel Flor Tampa, at 905 North Florida Avenue, is the tall historic tower. The guest rooms page says 210 rooms and suites across 19 floors. Many of the categories it describes are about 400 square feet, with a junior suite at about 600. The history page says the hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 12 March 1996, and that the City of Tampa designated it a local landmark on 19 March 1996. It says the tower, about 240 feet, was Florida's first skyscraper and stayed the state's tallest until 1966. It says the building was the Floridan, later Hotel Floridan Palace after a 2012 reopening, and that in January 2024 it reopened as Hotel Flor Tampa Downtown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Book the Flor name. Do not treat Floridan Palace as a second hotel at a second address. The Dan is the restaurant, described on the homepage FAQ as a Roaring Twenties room with New Orleans and Gulf Coast cooking. Cass Street Coffee runs 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Flor in the Morning is breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Hotel Flor's fees sit on two official pages that agree on the items we compared. The hotel's own FAQ says a daily destination fee of $30 covers premium internet, a daily $15 food and beverage credit in hotel outlets, bicycle rental for two, local shuttle transportation, and two bottled waters a day. Pets: up to two dogs, no more than 50 pounds each, $75 nonrefundable per stay, collected on arrival. Service dogs are welcome on that answer. The Hilton hotel info page lists check in at 4 p.m., check out at 11 a.m., valet at $52 with in and out privileges, and no self parking. It also lists the pet fee at $75 and a 50 pound maximum. The Hilton homepage says a complimentary shuttle serves a three mile radius and that the convention center, the arena, the aquarium, and the port are within about five minutes on that shuttle. It also says an airport shuttle is not available, and a location line says TPA is 10 miles away. Le Méridien, at 601 on the same avenue, lists the airport at 7.0 miles. Use each page's figure for that door. The Hilton homepage spells the nearby performing arts center Stratz. Tampa's venue is the Straz Center. We are noting the spelling on the hotel page, not auditing the sign. We do not publish a cancellation window for Hotel Flor, because the pages we read did not print one we will freeze.
Harbour Island and Davis Islands
The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside, at 725 South Harbour Island Boulevard, is the Harbour Island hotel in this set. On 26 Oct 2026 the official overview still described an upscale waterfront hotel with an outdoor pool, a fitness studio, and Blue Harbour for dining. The same page says food service at Blue Harbour stops at 10:00 p.m., and it also names 725 South Breakfast and The Marketplace. Check in is 4:00 p.m. Check out is 12:00 p.m. The minimum age is 21. Parking is valet only, $50 a day, and $60 for an oversized vehicle. Dogs only: up to two, up to 50 pounds, a signed waiver, not to be left unattended, with a nonrefundable fee of $150 per stay. The page lists Tampa International Airport at 9.0 miles, St. Pete Clearwater at 19.0 miles, and Orlando International at 86.0 miles, and it says the hotel does not provide a shuttle. It places the Florida Aquarium, Sparkman Wharf, the Tampa Riverwalk, and the convention center nearby, and it still says Amalie Arena. Other hotel pages on this guide say Benchmark. Ask which name is on the sign. The overview does not print a room count, so we do not publish one. The page also uses the shorter name The Westin Tampa Waterside. It is one hotel. Davis Islands is still a residential outing. None of these picks sleep there. Do not book the Westin and expect a Davis Islands porch.
Rocky Point and Westshore
West of downtown, the Westshore business corridor runs along Kennedy Boulevard toward the airport, and Rocky Point is the bayfront just beyond it, on Old Tampa Bay near the Courtney Campbell causeway. This is the right sleep when the flight is early, the view is water, and you accept a ride to Ybor or to SoHo. It is the wrong sleep if the Riverwalk was supposed to be the front door. The CURRENT Hotel, Autograph Collection, at 2545 North Rocky Point Drive, is the bay boutique in this set. The overview calls the setting oceanfront. The water at this address is Tampa Bay, at Rocky Point, near Ben T. Davis Beach. We are not repeating the page's four star line. Check in is 4:00 p.m. Check out is noon. You must be 21. Self parking is $27 a day. Valet is $35 a day. The page says daily rates are subject to change and asks oversized vehicles to call 813 281 2545 ahead. Pets: up to two, up to 40 pounds, nonrefundable fee of $150 per stay, described as covering up to five days. There is no airport shuttle. The overview lists Tampa International at 4.6 miles and, in another line, says the hotel is 5 minutes from the airport. St. Pete Clearwater is listed at 20.0 miles. A mile marker and a five minute claim can both be on the page and still not describe your arrival hour. A notice on the overview, read on 16 October 2026, said the pool would be closed from 8 to 10 December. That is a dated closure, not a permanent fact. Ask again if your stay is that week.
The CURRENT's own dining list is Julian, open daily 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a menu that changes by meal, Julian Lounge with live music on weekends, Casa Cami for Mexican food on the roof, and a coffee bar pouring Buddy Brew. The opening paragraph spells the Mexican restaurant Casa Cami with an accent. A later heading drops the accent. Confirm the name on the reservation. The page describes a partnership with Graphicstudio at the University of South Florida for art in the hotel. It also calls Raymond James Stadium, International Plaza, and the Straz Center short outings. The stadium is the Bucs note. The Straz Center is a ride, not a walk, from this shore. Wi Fi is complimentary for Bonvoy members who book direct. The fitness center is on the 9th floor on the overview. We do not publish a room count, because the overview we read did not state one we will freeze.
Hotel Alba, at 5303 West Kennedy Boulevard, is open on its own site and on its Hilton Tapestry page. The Hilton page says 222 rooms and 11 floors in the Westshore district, and it gives the airport as both about three miles and about two miles. We are not choosing a distance. The hotel site names The Spaniard, a lobby lounge, and a pool bar, and it frames the design as a nod to Ybor even though the address is Kennedy, not 7th Avenue. We did not put Alba on the pick list. It is a residential Westshore base. If that corridor is the point, open the hotel's site and read the total there. Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay still appears on a Hyatt experiences index under property code TPARW, and older Hyatt fact sheets on assets.hyatt.com place it at 2900 Bayport Drive. Those sheets are not a 2026 fee table. One older sheet mentions a shuttle and a distance that another sheet does not match. The live Hyatt page did not return figures we could read on 16 October 2026. It is not a pick on this page. Open Hyatt yourself before you treat TPARW as tonight's hotel.
Clearwater, St. Pete, and the beach day
Clearwater Beach and St. Petersburg Beach are the Gulf for this map. St. Petersburg's downtown waterfront is a different outing again, across the bay. All three are a day from a Tampa hotel, and they are a poor walking base for Ybor, the Riverwalk, or South Howard. None of the Noravelle picks sleep on the beach or in downtown St. Pete. That is a choice, not a resort we forgot. A beach hotel is a different product: sand at the end of the day, and a car or a scheduled ride back if you also want 7th Avenue. JW lists St. Pete Clearwater International at 17.5 miles and says it does not run a shuttle. EDITION lists 17.0 miles. The CURRENT lists 20.0 miles. Epicurean's fact sheet says about 30 minutes. We do not publish a drive time, a toll, or a beach rate. Summer heat makes the beach practical and a midday Riverwalk harder. If heat already limits your day, ask your own clinician before a long uncovered afternoon. We do not publish a forecast. If the trip is mostly the beach, book the beach on purpose and do not pretend a Channelside balcony is a dune.
Near TPA
Full service hotels inside the Tampa International Airport loop suit a dawn departure or a late landing. They are logistics for the flight, separate from a Water Street, Hyde Park, Ybor, downtown, or Rocky Point splurge. None of the Noravelle picks sleep in the terminal. The CURRENT, at 4.6 miles on its own page, is the closest pick, and it still says it does not run a shuttle. There is no downtown rail. SkyConnect, which the CURRENT overview lists as a nearby station, moves people between the airport's own terminals. It does not replace a ride to 7th Avenue. HART's older streetcar page mixes in a note that Route 30 runs between downtown and the airport, with weekday hours 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekend hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We did not treat that older page as the schedule for 16 October 2026, because the current streetcar service page does not reprint it. Check gohart.org on the day you land. Use a terminal hotel only when the flight sets the night, then move to the neighborhood that fits the rest of the trip.
How to choose
Pick the job of the trip before you compare suite photos. A design waterfront weekend with a roof and a $58 valet wants The Tampa EDITION. A full service Water Street weekend with a spa, two pools, and a 27th floor bar wants the JW, and not the adjacent Tampa Marriott unless that is the hotel you meant. A Harbour Island waterfront room with a pool wants The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside. A South Howard culinary weekend wants Epicurean. A 36 room village hotel on Swann wants Palihouse. A 7th Avenue courtyard wants Hotel Haya. A 1905 courthouse wants Le Méridien. A tall historic tower on the same avenue, under the Flor name since January 2024, wants Hotel Flor. A bay night near the airport wants The CURRENT. Davis Islands, the beaches, Kennedy Boulevard's Hotel Alba, Grand Hyatt's Bayport address, and the airport terminal are outings or flight nights. They are not missing luxury hotels on this pick list.
Smaller hotels sell out first. Palihouse describes 36 rooms. Le Méridien describes 130. EDITION's site describes 172 rooms and 30 suites. Epicurean's fact sheet and homepage describe 188. Hotel Flor's rooms page describes 210. We are not publishing a room count for Hotel Haya, the JW, or The CURRENT, because the pages we could read did not state one we will freeze. A larger hotel can still show rooms when a 36 room house is gone. The table is an editorial fit guide, not a ranking and not a price list. We do not invent nightly rates. Open the official site named in the last column before you pay. Read how we pick luxury hotels if you want the rules behind that short list, and how pricing works for why the compare buttons on this page stay closed.
Who each area suits
Use this as a shortlist, then read the neighborhood essay above for the tradeoff. Bayshore is a parade street and a sidewalk, not a hotel in this set. The beaches are a day. Hotel Alba and Grand Hyatt are real buildings we did not feature as picks. The Floridan Palace name is the old name of Hotel Flor, not a second booking.
Editorial fit for a Tampa luxury stay. Not a ranking and not a rate comparison.

Gasparilla is the inventory shock with a map attached. The Gasparilla site lists Children's Gasparilla on 23 January 2027, Gasparilla Pirate Fest on 30 January 2027, and the Outbound Voyage on 27 February 2027. The pirate fest info page says Saturday 30 January 2027 runs from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with music along the Riverwalk at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and MacDill Park, and it says the 2027 schedule is still TBD. The City of Tampa page is titled for 2027 even though the address still says 2026. It names the same two January dates, says many streets will close, and says more than 300,000 spectators are expected. That expectation is the city's, not a crowd we counted. The Gasparilla homepage says the pirate parade uses Bayshore Boulevard. Hyde Park and SoHo feel the street. Water Street feels the Riverwalk party. Ybor feels the people moving by streetcar. Rocky Point feels it only if you drive in. The 2026 HART patron sheet for the prior festival showed streetcar and bus changes that day. Those hours have passed. Do not reuse them as the 2027 plan. Confirm closures on the city page before you hold a prepaid rate.
Bucs weekends and Lightning weekends are the other inventory shocks, and they are not the same neighborhood. The CURRENT overview calls Raymond James Stadium a short drive from Rocky Point. That is the west side of town. The JW overview puts Benchmark International Arena at the hotel's fingertips on Water Street. EDITION says Benchmark Arena. Hotel Haya's FAQ still says Amalie Arena when it lists streetcar stops. Book the arena neighborhood only if you want that walk, and ask for a quieter room if you want the game as an outing. We do not publish a team schedule. Spring break timing for a warm Florida base sits on spring break 2027. Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks fill smaller hotels for family trips even when no parade is on your street. A Hyde Park or downtown courtyard suits a Christmas walk more than a midnight on 7th Avenue. Flight timing for those weeks is on Thanksgiving 2026 and Christmas travel 2026. All three sit on the holiday and event travel hub.
Summer is hot, and the pools that hotels actually describe are practical, not a postcard extra. EDITION describes a pool and a roof bar. The JW describes two sixth floor pools. Epicurean describes a pool and EDGE on the roof. Hotel Haya's pool is 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Le Méridien describes an outdoor pool. Hotel Flor's pages we read describe a fitness center and a shuttle, not a pool we are willing to assert. The CURRENT describes a pool and posted a closure for 8 to 10 December 2026. Palihouse's page describes a lobby bar and kitchenettes, not a pool we could verify. Plan shade, water, and a lighter first afternoon. If heat already limits your day, ask your own clinician before a long outdoor walk. We do not publish a forecast. A December weekend is the other clock: shorter days, the fact sheet's Victorian Christmas Stroll as a South Tampa name to verify, and the streetcar still the link between Ybor and downtown only while it is running. Do not schedule the beach, Ybor, and a Water Street dinner on the same arrival night in any season.
Noise, arenas, and 7th Avenue
Water Street is lively because the Riverwalk, the wharf, and the arena are the product. EDITION at 500 Channelside Drive and the JW at 510 Water Street sit in that band. A rooftop at either hotel is the lively room, and a guest room is a separate request. Event valet at the EDITION jumps to $60 plus tax, which is a small clue that the street is not ordinary on those nights. Ybor is lively because 7th Avenue is the product. Hotel Haya puts earplugs on the amenity list and limits smoking on balconies, which tells you the street is close. Hyde Park and SoHo are usually the calmer sleep. They are not silent. EDGE runs past midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Palihouse invites locals into the lobby bar. South Howard on a Saturday is a dining street. Bayshore on Gasparilla Saturday is a parade. Rocky Point is off all of those grids. Julian Lounge advertises live music on weekends, and a pool closure note does not make the hotel a library. We do not invent decibel scores.
If you want the arena energy for one planned evening, stay at the JW or the EDITION and ask for a higher floor. If you want 7th Avenue as the outing and not as a bedroom, sleep at Le Méridien, Hotel Flor, or Epicurean and ride the streetcar or a car back. The streetcar does not serve Howard or Swann, so Epicurean and Palihouse are a ride, not a rail stop. If you want the newer waterfront without pretending it is a courtyard, sleep at the JW or the EDITION and treat Ybor as a streetcar trip you chose. Tell the hotel which side you want, and keep that note with the reservation. A phone request that never lands in the booking record is not a plan. Hotel Haya's 48 hour rule is a reason to make the request while the rate is still flexible. Where we could not read a cancellation window, ask before you pay a prepaid rate.
Getting there, parking, and the streetcar
Parking is a hotel by hotel number, not a citywide one. EDITION prints overnight valet at $58 plus tax, daytime at $40 plus tax, and event valet at $60 plus tax, with a possible 50 percent validation after $60 in food and beverage, not on event nights. The JW prints $55 a day and $35 for short term daytime valet. Le Méridien prints overnight at $52, daytime at $20, and dinner parking at $5. Epicurean prints overnight at $25 and daily at $10, with outlet guests complimentary before 7 p.m. Hotel Haya prints $39 overnight on the FAQ and a $35 value on a package. Hotel Flor's Hilton page prints valet at $52 with in and out, and no self parking. The CURRENT prints self parking at $27 and valet at $35, and says the daily rates can change. On top of the room, Hotel Haya posts a destination fee of $25 plus tax and a 2.69 percent card fee. Hotel Flor posts a destination fee of $30 that includes a $15 food and beverage credit, bicycles for two, and a local shuttle. We do not publish a valet price for Palihouse. A second car, a cabana, a spa treatment, and a late checkout can all sit outside the headline rate. Read the total on each official site.
The free downtown tool, if you believe the current page, is the TECO Line Streetcar. HART's streetcar service page says the line is 2.7 miles through downtown, the Channel District, and Ybor City, and that it is now free with extended morning and late night hours. It does not print the clock. An older streetcar page still prints a 25 cent fare and a shorter span, weekdays 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hotel Haya's FAQ says the ride is complimentary and names stops. We are not flattening those into one timetable. Check gohart.org the week you travel. The streetcar is a bad plan for Hyde Park, for Bayshore, and for Rocky Point, because it does not go there. It is also a bad plan if you need the airport. None of these hotels run an airport shuttle. Le Méridien is the only pick that prints a named car company on the overview, Affari at $25 one way and $40 round trip, on request. For a Florida city that is a beach rather than a bay, compare Miami luxury hotels. For the Atlantic side of north Florida, with Ponte Vedra, Amelia Island, and a downtown river night, compare Jacksonville luxury hotels. For a squares weekend instead of a Gulf weekend, compare Savannah luxury hotels. Tampa can work without a car if the sleep is on Water Street, on Florida Avenue, or in Ybor and the outing is one neighborhood on the streetcar. Add a car when the plan needs Hyde Park, the beach, Rocky Point, or airport luggage you do not want to negotiate at midnight. There is no downtown rail from TPA.
How to shape the weekend
A clean luxury weekend has one sleep neighborhood and one intentional outing off that map. Land, check the official room location, and do not schedule Water Street, Ybor, Hyde Park, Rocky Point, and Clearwater on the same arrival evening. If you sleep at the EDITION or the JW, give the Riverwalk the first night and take the streetcar to Ybor once. If you sleep at Hotel Haya, give 7th Avenue the first night and ride west in the morning. If you sleep at Le Méridien or Hotel Flor, walk one downtown loop, use Flor's shuttle if you are at the Flor and the three mile radius covers the stop, and choose either the arena or SoHo, not both, for the second outing. If you sleep at Epicurean, give South Howard and one Bayshore hour the first day, and do not assume the streetcar will collect you. If you sleep at Palihouse, keep the village as the neighborhood you already chose. If you sleep at The CURRENT, keep the bay as the point and ride to the Straz or to Ybor on purpose. The beach is its own half day. There is no separate Tampa weekend guide and no Tampa day plan on this site. This hotel page is the neighborhood guide. The Tampa destination hub is the short map back. If the dates are still loose, read how pricing works before you treat a prepaid Gasparilla rate as the careful choice. Questions about a listing can go through contact.

More Noravelle picks
These hotels fill neighborhoods the picks above do not cover. Each link is the hotel official website. We did not add property photos. The photograph at the top of the page shows the place named in its caption. It is not a picture of a hotel.
- The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside, 725 South Harbour Island Boulevard. On 26 Oct 2026 the overview described an outdoor pool, Blue Harbour, valet only parking at $50 a day, and a $150 pet fee per stay for up to two dogs at 50 pounds. Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is noon. Age 21. TPA is listed at 9.0 miles, with no shuttle. The page does not print a room count. The same hotel is also called The Westin Tampa Waterside. No photo of this hotel is on this page.
- Palihouse Hyde Park Village, 1509 West Swann Avenue. The Palisociety page describes 36 rooms with kitchenettes and a lobby bar inside Hyde Park Village. We do not publish a valet rate, a pet fee, or a cancellation window, because that page did not print them. Thirty six rooms can disappear on a parade weekend. Book palisociety.com.
- Hotel Flor Tampa, 905 North Florida Avenue. The rooms page describes 210 rooms and suites on 19 floors. The history page says this was the Floridan and later Hotel Floridan Palace, reopened under the Flor name in the Tapestry Collection in January 2024. The hotel FAQ lists a $30 daily destination fee and a $75 pet fee for up to two dogs at 50 pounds. The Hilton info page lists valet at $52, check in at 4 p.m., and check out at 11 a.m. The Hilton page says the local shuttle covers about three miles and that an airport shuttle is not available.
- The CURRENT Hotel, Autograph Collection, 2545 North Rocky Point Drive. Bay rooms, Julian, and Casa Cami. Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is noon. Age 21. Self parking is $27 and valet is $35. Pets are $150 per stay, up to two, up to 40 pounds. No shuttle. The page lists TPA at 4.6 miles and also says 5 minutes. A notice read on 16 October 2026 said the pool would be closed 8 to 10 December.
Names that changed: the Floridan and Hotel Floridan Palace at 905 North Florida Avenue are Hotel Flor Tampa as of the hotel's own history page. The Tampa Marriott Water Street, mentioned on the JW overview for extra dining, is not the JW at 510 Water Street. Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, property code TPARW, is not a pick here because we could not read a live fee table on 16 October 2026. Hotel Alba at 5303 West Kennedy Boulevard is open and is not a pick on this list. EDITION, the JW, Le Méridien, Epicurean, Hotel Haya, Palihouse, The CURRENT, and The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside are open under those names. Also useful: the visitor bureau lodging list, Visit Tampa Bay places to stay (third party tourism site, not an endorsement of Noravelle).

Practical tips for a premium stay
- Gasparilla week, Bucs and Lightning weekends, and Christmas weeks tighten smaller hotels first. Palihouse describes 36 rooms. Le Méridien describes 130. EDITION's site describes 172 rooms and 30 suites. Epicurean describes 188. Hotel Flor describes 210. Compare the quieter side early on the official hotel site.
- Valet, taxes, destination fees, pets, and card fees change the total. EDITION lists valet at $58, $40, and $60 plus tax. The JW lists $55 and a $35 daytime rate. Le Méridien lists $52, $20, and $5. Epicurean lists $25 overnight and $10 daily. Hotel Haya lists a $25 destination fee, valet at $39 or a $35 package value, and a 2.69 percent card fee. Hotel Flor lists a $30 destination fee and valet at $52. The CURRENT lists $27 self parking and $35 valet. Read inclusions on the official hotel site. We do not invent live room prices.
- Tampa summers are hot. A pool is practical in July and August at the hotels that describe one, including EDITION, the JW, Epicurean, Hotel Haya, Le Méridien, and The CURRENT. Confirm Hotel Flor and Palihouse before you assume a pool. The CURRENT posted a pool closure for 8 to 10 December 2026. Plan shade and a lighter first afternoon. If heat already limits your day, ask your own clinician before a long outdoor day. Prefer a flexible rate if a parade or a game you might miss could shift the trip.
- A Water Street, downtown, or Ybor stay can use the TECO streetcar while it is running. HART's current page says the 2.7 mile line is free and does not print hours. An older page still prints 25 cents and a shorter clock. The streetcar does not serve Hyde Park or Rocky Point. No pick on this page runs an airport shuttle. There is no downtown rail from TPA. We do not publish live traffic times.
- Hotel Flor is the new name of the Floridan Palace tower. The JW is not the Tampa Marriott next door. EDITION, the JW, Le Méridien, Epicurean, Hotel Haya, Palihouse, The CURRENT, and The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside are open under those names. Confirm the current official site.
Next step checklist
- Decide Water Street, South Howard, Hyde Park Village, Ybor, the downtown courthouse, the Flor tower, or Rocky Point before you open suite photos. Use Bayshore, the beaches, and the airport as an outing or a flight night unless a specific hotel there is the point.
- Open the official website for one or two Noravelle picks.
- Read valet, destination fees, pet fees, card fees, and the cancellation window on that hotel site. If two pages disagree, believe the page you are about to pay and ask the hotel to confirm.
- Request a higher floor or a room off the Riverwalk, the roof, and 7th Avenue if sleep is the priority, and plan shade plus a lighter midday if you are visiting in summer heat.
- Read how we pick luxury hotels and how pricing works, then use the Tampa destination hub as the short map. Compare Miami, Savannah, and Jacksonville before you pay. The short map for that Atlantic shore is the Jacksonville destination hub. Holiday timing is on Thanksgiving 2026, Christmas travel 2026, and spring break 2027. Return to all hotel city guides if you are still choosing a city. Questions about a listing can go through contact.
What to know before you book
What counts as a 5 star hotel in Tampa?
A 5 star hotel in Tampa, in the way most travelers use that search, is a full service room with a downtown, waterfront, or Hyde Park address. This page does not assign star ratings and does not copy an award onto a card. For Water Street, open The Tampa EDITION at 500 Channelside Drive or JW Marriott Tampa Water Street at 510 Water Street. For Harbour Island, open The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside at 725 South Harbour Island Boulevard. For South Howard, open Epicurean Hotel. For a small Hyde Park house, open Palihouse Hyde Park Village. For Ybor, open Hotel Haya. For downtown Florida Avenue, open Le Meridien Tampa, The Courthouse, or Hotel Flor Tampa. For a bay night, open The CURRENT Hotel. Confirm the room on the official site.
Where can I book a luxury hotel room in Tampa?
A luxury hotel room in Tampa on this page is one of nine operating hotels. Water Street and Channelside: The Tampa EDITION and JW Marriott Tampa Water Street. Harbour Island: The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside, with an outdoor pool and valet only parking. Hyde Park and SoHo: Epicurean Hotel and Palihouse Hyde Park Village. Ybor City: Hotel Haya. Downtown: Le Meridien Tampa, The Courthouse, and Hotel Flor Tampa. Rocky Point: The CURRENT Hotel. Book on the official hotel website named with each pick. We do not invent nightly prices, and rate comparison on this site is not live.
Which neighborhood fits a Tampa luxury stay?
Water Street and Channelside suit a walkable waterfront night. The Tampa EDITION at 500 Channelside Drive describes 172 guest rooms and 30 suites. JW Marriott Tampa Water Street at 510 Water Street is the full service neighbor, with Spa by JW, sixth floor pools, and Beacon on the 27th floor. The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside at 725 South Harbour Island Boulevard is the Harbour Island hotel, with an outdoor pool and valet only parking. Hyde Park and SoHo are the leafy dining base. Epicurean Hotel at 1207 South Howard Avenue describes 188 rooms, and its July 2026 fact sheet places 51 of them across Howard. Palihouse Hyde Park Village at 1509 West Swann Avenue describes 36 rooms inside Hyde Park Village. Ybor City suits Hotel Haya at 1412 East 7th Avenue when 7th Avenue and a courtyard pool are the point. Downtown suits Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse, at 601 North Florida Avenue, which describes 130 rooms in the 1905 building, or Hotel Flor Tampa at 905 North Florida Avenue, which describes 210 rooms and suites. Rocky Point suits The CURRENT Hotel at 2545 North Rocky Point Drive when the bay, not a downtown walk, is the night. Clearwater and St. Pete are a day from these addresses. A terminal hotel at Tampa International Airport is a different product. None of these picks sleep inside the terminal. Choose the neighborhood before you compare suite photos.
Should I choose Water Street, Hyde Park, Ybor City, or downtown?
Choose Water Street when the Riverwalk, a rooftop, and an arena night are the trip, and you can ask which rooms face the water. EDITION and the JW are different buildings on that walk. The JW overview also points at dining in the adjacent Tampa Marriott Water Street, which is not the JW. Choose Hyde Park or SoHo when dinner and a calmer residential street matter more than Channelside. Epicurean is South Howard. Palihouse is Swann Avenue, inside the shopping village. They are not the same block, and neither is on Bayshore Boulevard, which is the Gasparilla parade street. Choose Ybor and Hotel Haya when historic 7th Avenue is the evening and you will ask for a courtyard room. Choose the downtown courthouse, Le Méridien, when the 1905 building is the reason. Choose Hotel Flor when you want the tall historic tower on the same avenue, a Tapestry house that reopened under this name in January 2024. Confirm fees and cancellation on each official site.
How loud is Water Street or Ybor compared with Hyde Park?
Water Street and Channelside pick up Riverwalk restaurants, cruise traffic near the port, and arena nights. The JW overview names Benchmark International Arena at the hotel's fingertips. The EDITION overview says Benchmark Arena. Hotel Haya's FAQ still lists Amalie Arena on its streetcar stops. Treat the arena as the same building with a name that pages have not all updated, and ask the hotel which name is on the sign during your dates. Ybor's 7th Avenue is a nightlife street. Hotel Haya's FAQ puts the pool at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and says smoking is not allowed in rooms or on private balconies, with a smoking penalty whose amount the FAQ does not print. Hyde Park and SoHo are usually the calmer sleep after dinner, and South Howard still has restaurants and bars. Epicurean's EDGE rooftop runs until midnight Tuesday through Thursday and until 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and it is closed Sunday and Monday. Palihouse describes a lobby bar that welcomes locals, so the room above that bar is a different request from a quiet suite. Rocky Point is off those streets. A pool deck and a weekend lounge can still be lively. We do not invent noise scores. Ask the hotel when you book.
What fees should I expect, and how should cancellation work?
Valet, destination fees, pet fees, and taxes change the total, and several hotels print more than one parking number. The Tampa EDITION overview lists overnight valet at $58, daytime valet at $40, and event valet at $60, and says the daily figure excludes tax. The getting here page adds that a $60 food and beverage spend can validate 50 percent off, not on event nights. Pets are one pet up to 25 pounds at a nonrefundable $250 per stay. JW Marriott lists valet at $55 a day and short term daytime valet at $35. Pets are not allowed. The amenities list prints 80.00 beside the club lounge and says lounge access is complimentary for Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members. Ask what that 80.00 line means on your rate. Le Méridien lists overnight valet at $52, daytime valet at $20, and dinner parking at $5. Dogs up to 40 pounds are $50 per pet per night, up to two pets. Epicurean lists overnight valet at $25 a night and daily valet at $10. Outlet patrons are complimentary before 7 p.m. and $10 after. Pets are not allowed, service animals excepted. The hours page lists bicycle rental at $20. Hotel Haya's FAQ lists a destination amenity fee of $25 plus tax per room per night, overnight valet at $39 with in and out, and a pet fee of $100 per pet for up to two pets. The Park and Stay offer values valet at $35 a night and lists a pet fee of $75 with a 30 pound maximum. Read both. Flexible Haya rates cancel without penalty more than 48 hours before 4 p.m. arrival. Inside that window the penalty is one night of room and tax. The FAQ also prints a 2.69 percent credit card recovery fee on each card transaction. Hotel Flor's own site lists a daily destination fee of $30. The Hilton hotel info page lists valet at $52 with in and out, and no self parking. The hotel site allows two dogs up to 50 pounds at $75 per stay. The CURRENT lists self parking at $27 and valet at $35, and a nonrefundable pet fee of $150 per stay for up to two pets at 40 pounds. We do not publish a valet figure for Palihouse, because the page we read did not print one. We do not publish nightly room rates.
When should I book for Gasparilla, Bucs, and Lightning weekends?
Gasparilla is the inventory shock with a street attached. The Gasparilla site lists Children's Gasparilla on 23 January 2027, Gasparilla Pirate Fest on 30 January 2027, and the Outbound Voyage on 27 February 2027. The pirate fest info page says Saturday 30 January 2027 runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and that the 2027 schedule is still TBD. The City of Tampa page, whose web address still says 2026, is titled for 2027 and says many streets will close. It expects more than 300,000 spectators. That is the city's expectation, not a count we made. The parade the Gasparilla homepage describes uses Bayshore Boulevard, which is the South Tampa waterfront, not 7th Avenue and not Rocky Point. Hyde Park hotels feel the street closure. Water Street and downtown feel the Riverwalk stages. The 2026 HART patron sheet for the prior pirate fest is not the 2027 plan. Bucs weekends point at Raymond James Stadium, which The CURRENT overview calls a short drive from Rocky Point. Lightning weekends point at the arena beside Water Street. Palihouse describes 36 rooms. Le Méridien describes 130. EDITION's own site describes 172 rooms and 30 suites. Epicurean's fact sheet describes 188. Hotel Flor's rooms page describes 210. A 36 room house can sell out while a Water Street tower still shows inventory. Compare the room you actually want on the official site. If the weekend might shift, prefer a flexible rate. We do not invent nightly prices.
Do I need a car from TPA, or is the streetcar enough?
There is no downtown rail from Tampa International Airport. The CURRENT overview lists a nearby train station named SkyConnect Passenger Terminal Station. That is the airport people mover, not a ride to Ybor. HART's current streetcar page says the TECO Line Streetcar is a 2.7 mile line through downtown, the Channel District, and Ybor City, and that it is now free with extended morning and late night hours. The page does not print a clock. An older streetcar page still prints a 25 cent fare and hours of weekdays 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are not choosing one of those pages for you. Hotel Haya's FAQ says the streetcar is complimentary and lists stops that include the Florida Aquarium, Sparkman Wharf, and the arena. The streetcar does not serve Hyde Park, SoHo, Bayshore, or Rocky Point. None of the picks on this page provide an airport shuttle. EDITION lists TPA at 8.0 miles. JW and Le Méridien list 7.0 miles. Epicurean's hours page lists 7.4 miles, while its July 2026 fact sheet says about 15 minutes and about 30 minutes to St. Pete Clearwater. The CURRENT lists 4.6 miles and also says 5 minutes. Hotel Flor's Hilton page says 10 miles and says an airport shuttle is not available. Le Méridien lists Affari Transportation at $25 one way and $40 round trip, on request. A Water Street, downtown, or Ybor stay can work with the streetcar plus rideshare after you arrive. Hyde Park and Rocky Point need a car or a ride for dinner if you will not walk only your own block. We do not publish live traffic times. Book on the official hotel site when the hotel, the room, and the cancellation terms already fit. Rate comparison networks on this site are not live yet.
Is Clearwater or St. Pete the right hotel, or only a day?
Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach are a day from a Tampa hotel, or a different resort trip that gives up Ybor and the Riverwalk after dinner. None of the Noravelle picks use a beach address. JW lists St. Pete Clearwater International at 17.5 miles and says the hotel does not run a shuttle. EDITION lists that airport at 17.0 miles. The CURRENT lists it at 20.0 miles. Epicurean's fact sheet says about 30 minutes. Those figures do not match because they measure different doors, and one of them is a planning time rather than a mile marker. Use them as each hotel's note. A beach morning plus a Water Street dinner plus Ybor is three trips. Pick one sleep and one water outing. If the trip is mostly sand, say so before you book a Channelside balcony. We do not publish a drive time or a beach hotel rate.
Are these hotels still open under these names?
As of 26 October 2026, The Tampa EDITION, JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse, Epicurean Hotel, Hotel Haya, Palihouse Hyde Park Village, Hotel Flor Tampa, The CURRENT Hotel, and The Westin Tampa Downtown Waterside are open under those names on the official sites linked here. Hotel Flor's own history page says the building was the Floridan and later Hotel Floridan Palace, and that it reopened as Hotel Flor Tampa Downtown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in January 2024. Book hotelflortampa.com or the Hilton page. Do not treat Floridan Palace as a second hotel. The JW overview mentions the adjacent Tampa Marriott Water Street for extra dining. That Marriott is not the JW. Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay still appears on a Hyatt experiences index for property code TPARW, and older Hyatt fact sheets place it at 2900 Bayport Drive. The live Hyatt hotel page did not return a fee table we could read on 16 October 2026, so it is not a pick here. Hotel Alba at 5303 West Kennedy Boulevard is open on its own site as a Tapestry house. We did not put it on the pick list. Confirm the current official site before you pay.
